Q: WHERE CAN I GO ON TELECARE?
A:
You may schedule regular rides for most regular day needs (i.e. shopping, medical/health services, personal needs, social activities, meetings, employment, etc.) Rides through the Volunteer Program are available for out-of-area health trips when available.

Q: HOW DO I QUALIFY FOR RIDES ON TELECARE?
A:
To qualify for rides with Telecare on the regular transportation program you must fill-out an ADA application form available through Telecare. The completed form is then reviewed and qualified by the County of Nevada Transit Services Department . Seniors 60 years or older may participate in the Senior Voucher Program and Senior Sunday Service. Seniors 60 and over and person’s with disabilities may use T.H.E. VAN PROGRAM and are qualified through Telecare on a case-by-case basis.

Q: WHEN SHOULD I CALL TO SCHEDULE A RIDE?
A:
You must call at least 1to14 business days in advance at (530)272-1710 during business hours 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday. Messages may be left after hours and on weekends.

Q:CAN I GET A RIDE ON WEEKENDS?
A:
Rides are available on Saturdays for ADA qualified persons. Sunday ride service is available for seniors 60 and over.

Q: DOES IT COST ANYTHING TO RIDE TELECARE?
A:
There is a fare for each one-way trip. Local fares are $2.00 one-way. (Within the ADA corridor) and extended service area fares are $4.00 one-way. (Outside the ADA corridor.) Fares for the Sunday Service are by donation. Rides through the Volunteer Program are .55 per mile.

Call the Telecare office at (530)272-1710 and our dispatch/scheduling staff will be happy to provide the necessary information.

Q: IS TELECARE A PRIVATE COMPANY?
A:
No. Gold Country Telecare is a private NON-PROFIT agency governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We are funded through public funding, grants through Area 4 Agency on Aging, United Way of Nevada County, fundraising, and donations.
