  • Where can I go on Telecare?

You may schedule rides for most regular daily needs like shopping, medical/health services and appointments, personal needs, social activities, meetings, employment and more. 

Rides through the Volunteer Program are available for out-of-area health trips when available.

  • How do I qualify for rides on Telecare?

To qualify for rides with Telecare you must fill-out an ADA application form (also available at the Telecare office). The completed form is then reviewed and qualified by the County of Nevada Transit Services Department.

  • When can I call to schedule a ride?

Call (530) 272-1710 - Monday-Friday from 8am to 5pm

Call up to 14 days in advance

Minimum of 24 hours advance notice is required

Cancellations may be left after hours and on weekends

All reservations much be made with a Scheduler - do not leave reservations on our answering machine.

  • Can I get a ride on weekends?

Sunday rides are available for seniors 60 and over between 8am and 1pm - space is limited so call ahead.

No Saturdays service is available.

  • Does it cost to ride Telecare?

There is a fare for each one-way trip.

Local fares are $2.00 one-way within the ADA corridor.

Extended service fares outside of the ADA corridor are $4.00 one-way.

Fares for our Sunday Service are by donation (donations are helpful in sustaining many of our services). Read more about our Sunday Services here.

Rides through the Volunteer Program are .55 per mile. Read more about our Volunteer section here.

Voucher books are available for senior over 60. Cost is $2 for a book of twenty $2 vouchers. Only one voucher can be used per one-way trip. Read more about our Voucher program here.

  • How do I get Vouchers?

Call the Telecare office at (530)272-1710 and our dispatch/scheduling staff will be happy to provide the necessary information.

  • Is Telecare a private company?

No. Gold Country Telecare is a private NON-PROFIT agency governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We are funded through public funding, grants through Area 4 Agency on Aging, United Way of Nevada County, the American Cancer Society, fundraising and private donations.

  • What if I have a question, problem or complaint (or praise)?
